Biography
Emily Yu received her law degree from Emory University, she also has a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Colombia University. Emily has a passion for working with child and studied child development working as a teaching assistant for toddlers.
While in college Emily also volunteered at the Domestic Violence Center helping clients obtain protective orders against abusive relationships. She also participated in the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation in Domestic Violence, where she conducted interviews with clients to see if the they required protective orders, she provided pro bono representation to many clients.
Emily has mediated over 200 cases and is a registered neutral civil and domestic mediator. Emily has also trained new mediators through the Georgia State Law School and John Marshall Law School. Emily understands the emotional impact a divorce can have works to neutralize that through settlement and negotiations to help her clients. She realizes that not all cases can be negotiated and will take the case to trial to get a favorable outcome for her clients.
